"Janet McReynold's quote"

"Our daughter, along with her best friend, was abducted in 1974, when she was 9 years old. The two girls were lured into a car and driven into the countryside, where our daughter witnessed the molestation of her friend. Our daughter probably saved her own life and her friend's by stubbornly resisting the perpetrator's attempts to force her out of the car so he could be alone with the other girl. Finally the man had a change of heart. He wept and said, "The devil made me do it." He drove the girls back to the edge of town and released them. The crime took place on Dec. 26, the same date as JonBenet's murder 22 years later." ~ Janet McReynolds

Unlike many others, I happen to think that this incident bears no relationship whatsoever to the JonBenet murder.

22 years before the murder of JonBenet Ramsey, I went to a bakery and had a toasted onion bagel with cream cheese and chives.

I don't think it has anything to do with it,either. I think that it's easier to remember "the day after Christmas" rather than say, "April 11, 1970" -- unless it's your birthday or something.

Did the McR's live in Colorado at the time of the kidnapping?

if the McReynolds had something to do with that abduction
and had something to do with JBR's murder.
Other than that, it is not important.

There could be a silver thread that links some of the players, in some way. There was also another little girl that lived on the block that was abducted in the late 70's, I believe--and was found murdered--her friend survived.

Was the little girl you mentioned in your above post from the Ramsey block or the McSanta block? This is most interesting!

6. "interesting"
In response to message #5

I don't think the events are connected unless it was a McReynolds' family member or close friend

If it was someone who did this because Bill was interested in JonBenét and had not avenged his daughter's abduction.... well, I just think it is a warped motive but one that might need to be considered - - the killer WAS warped, after all.

I think it was interesting that Bill and Janet had "forgotten" the incident with their daughter happened on the day after Christmas - doesn't prove a thing but I do find that strange.

7. "Forgotten?"
In response to message #6

Perhaps it is strange that it would be forgotten, however they might well want to forget it and that might aid in its being forgotten.

Also, often an item is described as 'forgotten' when in fact it was simply 'not then recalled' or 'not then felt relevant and therefore not mentioned'. Later it might be described in a manner such as 'oh, I forgot about that' which more means: I remember the incident and remember the date that it took place, but since I did not place any great emphasis on it, I did not think to mention it at the time'

8. "I wonder"
In response to message #7

about the comment Janet made in an interview about victims choosing their own killers, or something like that. Does she feel that to be true about all victims of all crimes?

Did she make that comment before or after her own daughter and her friend were victimized??

I think the killer was well aware of the
McReynolds life and incorporated it into the plan

how coincidental the abduction the abuse the play the santa playing at the ramseys home the
teaching at the college how much of his or her life did they share with their students and how
revengeful are his/her own children.

I find it very odd that Jill has been made public I respect her right but it is news would have sold tons
of tabloids even talk shows on coincidental basis

also was this abductor and the other child ever identified my best guess is that the girls knew him did
the police in boulder really investigate this avenue revenge and jealousy are motives for murder

10 . "The thread that ties the two incidents..."

...is the significance of the date. Winter solstice...St. Stephens Day, Child of Promise for a bountiful
spring...human sacrifice.
