"Brian Scott"

Here's an excerpt from Brian Scott, the Rams landscaper, from Perfect Murder, Perfect Town:

In early December of '96, I was raking the blanket of leaves under a maple, getting the probperty
ready for winter.
"Don't pick the leaves up, please," JonBenet begged me. "Leave them for me to play with."
Well, I'm thinking, no way. My job is to pick them up, and that's what I'm going to do.
"Last year my dad and I did that."
And then she said quietly; "I really miss him. I wish he was around more."
"Where does he go?"
"I don't know, but sometimes he goes away for a long time."
"You really miss him?" I asked.
"Yeah, I really miss him a lot."
Then she started to cry, tears rolling down her cheeks.
______________________________________________________________________

I don't know about anyone else, but this passage from the book gives me a sense that there was
something going on while daddy was away. JonBenet not only missed her dad, but I think she was
relaying a message. I wonder who felt comfortable enough to help themselves to JonBenet while John
was away on business trips? I can think of only one person. He knows who he is.

Jameson, the Paugh family was known for using the phrase about "good southern common sense".
Oliva wasn't smart enough to write enough about the Ramseys, even if he did know a few little details.

The person who killed JonBenet is an evil genius. Make no mistake that he will go the long haul with his
secret. He may act like a nut, but he's no fool. He's a master planner and manipulator. He used various
sources to set up the perfect murder.

One more thing. It's sickening to realize that an old man thought a six year old girl was coming on to
him several months before her murder. That is what is utterly disgusting.

I think it would be nice to have that WHOLE story.

If John and the family had just gotten back from a nice vacation where she was happy and with Daddy 24/7 and missed him because he had to go to work - - - - so what? I think all of us have had days when the kids wanted Daddy to stay home with them.

I think Schiller exaggerated at times.

You obviously only want to see a stranger/intruder killing JonBenet. You're dead wrong.

It's out there if you'll open your mind.

I don't think it had to be a stranger at all.

I want to see those men who were stayingat the Whites' for the holiday thoroughly investigated. I want to see Joe Barnhill's son thoroughly investigated. I want to see Santa's son checked out. I want to see LHP's son-in-law totally checked out. Anyone from the college who had been to the house with JAR for any reason - - I want to see them considered.

I am NOT stuck on the killer being a stranger at all.

My personal theory is that the killer is someone who didn't know how to spell JonBenét's name - - otherwise it would have been in the ransom note. And I think the person was far enough removed that he didn't concern himself about the Ramseys being able to ID his handwriting.

The letter writer didn't add JonBenet's name so it would look like he didn't know her.

I'd like to see the company at the Whites thorougly investigated, too.

I shudder to think that the guests were there for the ultimate act committed against a human being.

Where was Fleet Sr. the night of JonBenet's murder? If you'll remember, it was confirmed that Fleet's mother wasn't a tad bit ill over Christmas '96. Why would Jr. lie about calling 411 to the hospital she was in to get her medication? That is a crock of bull. No way did he have to get her meds if she was in the hospital. Doh.

As far as I know, Fleet's mother WAS sick that year. I don't know of any lie there at all. In fact, I know the opposite to be true.

And I didn't think it was MEDS, necessarily. I thought it was something more substancial - - but do not remember the details.

You can say what you think until the cows come home. A certain person in Aspen was called and she told the person who called her that Nyla White was as healthy as a horse Christmas of 96. In fact, she was cooking for their yearly Christmas party, which this person was a guest of.

You don't appear to know every nook and cranny in this case like you claim you do. There are people who speak the truth about this case because they have actually spent hundreds, if not thousands of hours investigating what others won't dare to.

Back to the forum of record!

John was gone on business for several days, if not weeks. It is a big deal to a six-year-old.

I Sincerely doubt JB said any of those things. What six year old says: " I wish he was around more". HA, give me a break. JB was used to her dad being on Business trips and I'm sure she was told by either John or patsy or both, where he was going.

That is pure fantasy... whoever said it. Be it Schiller or Brian White. Who, btw, makes an excellent suspect.

   Kaboodle -

I have no idea who you are - - don't know what your credibility factor is. If you want to prove me wrong, do it. It's going to take more than an anonymous posting telling me I'm wrong.

JonBenet was an unusual child in many ways. If you weren't close to her personally, don't be so sure of the sort of things she might have come up with. Kids say the darndest things, to coin a phrase. Also, what she understood intellectually could have been worlds apart from her emotional understanding.

Maybe if you file a motion with the Boulder courts Beckner will turn over the case files pertaining to any investigation done on him. Hey, it's Boulder.

The first time I read this story by Brian Scott, I wondered about him. He seems somewhat odd to me. Every time he talks about JB, he seems to note how she looks, what she was wearing, and that she was a little impertinent. I know that Linda Arndt first interviewed him, but then she was taken off the case. Later, he was reinterviewed (Harmer)and his alibi (that he was with his girlfriend from about 10:30 until about 12:00 or 12:30 Christmas night, then went home alone) is somewhat incomplete. Hair, saliva, blood, and handwriting samples were given. He seems to warrant a close look.
