There were many new items mentioned in the People story. One was the fact that two men were seen yelling at Laci to make McKenzie quit barking. (This might also coincide with other reports that she was having trouble controling the dog.)Another was the statement that her body had on light colored maternity pants (when Scott and all witnesses said she had on black pants and a white top.)
Of even greater interest to me was the MPD* saying the burglary across the street took place on the 26th rather than the 24th. A news photographer said this could not be so because on the 26th he was stationed at the scene with his camera and would have been aware of something like a burglary taking place. I believe the owners also said the burglars did not bother to take some expensive jewelry lying out in the open.
*Was this the same MPD that issued a statement back in the Yosemite murders that (after the first three victims were found) citizens could rest easy now because they were certain they had the perps in jail. (Of course, they did NOT, because another murder occurred just a week or so later. Watch the Cary Stayner case on tv some time.) Seems they rounded up all the wackos, junkies, burglars, pedophiles, etc., and put them in jail. I wonder why these same creeps were not rounded up and investigated in Laci's case.
I don't know how People got their info, what with the gag order, but I can't see that what they revealed will be of help to the prosecution.
