Briefs: Man sentenced in stun gun case July 3, 2002
A Highlands Ranch man who allegedly used a stun gun with the intent to
rape his teen-age neighbor will serve at least six years in prison, a judge
decided Tuesday.
Steven McGonigle, 50, was sentenced Tuesday in Douglas County
District Court for the August 2000 attempted sexual assault of his
16-year-old female neighbor.
According to court documents, McGonigle allegedly went to the
teen-ager's home when he knew the girl's parents would be out of town.
Inside the home, court documents say, McGonigle "stabbed" the teen 13
times with a stun gun.
He stopped after the girl's aunt confronted him.
