The Shawn Hornbeck Foundation’s Sitting With An Angel campaign sets its sights on Mattoon, Illinois this Wednesday, featuring the dedication of three benches for Kimberly Dawn McClaskey.

The Sitting With An Angel campaign is a result of a partnership between The Shawn Hornbeck Foundation and Creative Placard Ads of Granite City, Illinois. The partnership places benches featuring the photo and case information about missing children at high traffic retail establishments throughout the Midwest.

The Angel to be featured in this stop on the ‘Sitting With An Angel’ bench campaign will be Kimberly Dawn McClaskey, missing from London Mills, Illinois since July 16, 1983. Kimberly was on her way to visit a cousin in London Mills, and planned to return home that same evening. Her belongings were found on July 16, 1983 in the Spoon River in London Mills. Kimberly was 17 years old at the time of her disappearance, and she is classified as a non-family abduction.

Kimberly’s benches will be dedicated on Wednesday, October 29th, at 6:30pm. The dedication will take place at County Market, 2000 Western Ave., Mattoon, Illinois 61938. The public and media are invited to attend the dedication ceremony. After the dedication one bench will be placed at County Market on Lakeland Blvd in Mattoon, and another will be placed at County Market on E Street in Charleston, Illinois. The sponsors of these benches are ReMax Premier Realtors, Banner Finance Corp., Jake's Discount Carpet, Boxa Pizza and Coldwell Banker Classic Real Estate.
