"Center For HOPE"

LAST EDITED ON Sep-27-03 AT 04:53 PM (EST)

Doug and Mary Lyall's daughter, Susan Gloria Lyall, vanished on March 2nd, 1998 from University at Albany Uptown Campus, after leaving her job at Babbages at Crossgates Mall Albany, NY, returning to the university and her dorm by CTDA busline. She was seen on the bus and at the drop off point. That is that last time documented that Susan was seen.

Doug and Mary Lyall, her parents and her family, like so many other parents and familys of missing continue their search and will never give up hope finding Susan. Meanwhile they do their very best in every way to help other families of missing loved ones and the safety of our children and our society.

I think sometimes people run away and really don't want to return - - and like it or not, they will not return on their own.

But it seems cruel to me for them to let people worry about them, not know that they are live and doing OK.

I hope any group seeking to find missing people will consider this situation in their overall plan - - make it possible for someone to get a message to loved ones without being forcefully reunited.

The problem is making sure the person is who they claim, but it seems to me that a personal letter written by hand in front of an unbiased witness might do the trick.

I don't have the answers, I know I don't, but I know some families would give anything for just that much relief.

I have a snail mail drop box - if a missing person wants to get word to their family via a letter, I would encourage them to write the letter, address an envelope to them and send that to me. I would gladly accept that mail and forward it for them.

My snail mail address is
