The family of Tristen Buddy Myers continues to spread the word about the disappearance of the
4-year-old little boy, while they hope and pray for a safe return.
Jackie Cox, a friend of the family, said that throughout the week efforts focused on going
door-to-door with the child's picture, his description and the story of his disappearance.
As of Friday, the city of Roseboro had been canvassed and the family now plans to spread into
surrounding rural areas and into Salemburg.
"We covered another 800 homes in Roseboro this week and will now spread our efforts outwards,"
said Cox.
Family and friends have even been handing out fliers on the north and southbound rest areas on
Interstate 95, in hopes of securing a lead.

"The family has asked anyone leaving the area for the holiday, to please stop by Sampson Auto Parts
in Roseboro and pick up a stack of fliers to hand out during their travels," says Cox.

"Every church in Sampson County has received a picture of Tristen and half of the churches in
Cumberland now have our information," she added.

Efforts to find the child have not diminished in the least bit.

Sampson County Sheriff's juvenile officer Darold Cox, said he interviewed several people throughout
the week, but there are still no real leads.

"I've conducted several interviews this week, both on Monday and Friday, and nothing has turned
up," said Detective Cox.

Investigators continue to pursue every possible lead, regardless how small.

Capt. Landis Lee said he has searched several spots locally throughout the week after receiving tips,
but nothing has yet to be found.

"Somebody...somewhere, has to know something about the child's whereabouts," said Lee.

The family would like to remind the public that ribbons and iron-on pictures of Tristen our still
available at Kerr Drugs and Sampson Auto Parts in Roseboro.

Donations for printing costs are still needed as well.

"Whoever has Tristen...please drop him off at a hospital or church, that's all we ask," said Cox.

Circumstances : Both of the photographs shown are of Tristen. Tristen was last seen walking with a
tan Chihuahua and a black Doberman. The dogs have since returned home. At the time of his
disappearance, Tristen was wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans, and white tennis shoes. He has a
scar on the left side of his neck. His full name is Tristen Alan Myers but he uses the nickname
"Buddy". He may be in need of medical attention.

Divers find no trace of boy

ROSEBORO -- Divers found no sign of Tristen “Buddy” Myers on Saturday during about seven hours of
searching.

Buddy, who is 4 years old, disappeared Oct. 5. He was last seen near his home on Microwave Tower
Road.

Eight divers spent the chilly day in two ponds west of Roseboro, off N.C. 24. The area is near where
Buddy lived with his aunt, Donna Myers, and her family.

“It was as thorough a search as could be,” said Ronald Bass, assistant director of emergency
services for Sampson County. “The divers were on the floor of the ponds and explored the bottom
with their hands.”

Bass said the ponds were about 12 feet deep. One was about 75 feet long and 40 feet wide, and the
other was about 200 feet long and 30 feet wide.

The divers had planned to search a third pond, but Sampson County sheriff’s Maj. John Hayes said
debris in that pond made diving there impossible. The divers were from the North Carolina Underwater
Response Team, which is based in Henderson in Vance County.

The nonprofit organization does not charge for services if it is contacted through law enforcement,
fire or rescue departments. It is funded with grants and donations.

Hundreds of people joined the search for Buddy in the days after he disappeared. The search was
scaled back as the ground near Buddy’s home was covered.

Two dogs that were seen with Buddy before he disappeared eventually returned home, unharmed.

Hayes said leads are still being investigated, but none appear promising.

“We’ve still got some things going on; we’re never going to quit as long as we have anything to work
with, but nothing has changed so far,” he said.

Thursday, October 5, 4-year-old “Buddy” Myers wandered off from his home in Roseboro, North
Carolina, with his two dogs, Sasha, a baby doberman, and Buck, a three-legged mut. Police
conducted a massive search of the surrounding area but found no sign of “Buddy,“ or the dogs. Then,
on October 10, Buck, the mut, came home. Sadly, "Buddy" and Sasha did not. After airing on October
14, Sasha mysteriously came home. Buddy was not with the puppy. Buddy moved to Roseboro, to live
with his Great Aunt and Uncle, two months he disappeared. They describe “Buddy” as a curious and
friendly little boy who would talk to just about anyone.
