"Stun Gun evidence"

A stun gun was used on JonBenét. I believe the killer pressed her into the bed and pressed the stun gun into her back, then carried her to the basement. I think the second stun gun injury took place in the basement after the tape was on her mouth. I think the white flake on her face was from the adhesive on the tape. JMO

In response to message #0

Some view the use of stun gun as exculpatory because no parent would need to use one and in any event the Ramseys did not own one. On the other hand, some view the use of a stun gun as evidence of a desire to inflict pain rather than kidnap and some view a stun gun as evidence of 'slight build' such as being a youthful offender in need of a weapon to fend off a startled parent.

2. "no alternative"
In response to message #1

There are people out there who say it was not a stun gun (mostly, IMO, because they know the parents didn't own one) but they offer no alternative.

The marks were not caused by any "snap" or "button" - - they weren't that kind of injury.

The BORG will say no stun gun. They want people to totally disregard those marks. But we can't do that - - the marks must be accounted for - - and while they propbably ARE from a stun gun - those who deny that offer no reasonable alternative.

is the road I took on use of a stun gun. After seeing the photos of the marks on JonBenét, reading the research, and making comparisons to other stun gun injuries found on corpses, I was, and remain, convinced that a stun gun was used on JonBenét.

4. "Alternative ??"
In response to message #2

As an alternative to stun gun marks, I've always felt 'trained mosquitoes' was a pretty good idea.

"You can look at a photograph all you want, and say it looks like 'X,' but
when you have a forensic pathologist who has performed hundreds and
hundreds of autopsies - and was at the scene - and he said they are
abrasions, that carries a lot of weight," Kane said.

Wow - - that might make me think the stun gun marks were just scrapes BUT when Mr. Boggs was murdered and examined, the stun gun marks on HIS body were incorrectly identified as abrasions as well - - untell months later when the killer's son told police what happened - - all of it - - and told them a stun gun was used.

Boggs was dug up and reexamined. The marks were compared tot he stun gun found in the killer's vehicle and - - - guess what? Yep -=- - it was a match.

The coroner who did all that went on to become THE MAN when it comes to identifying stun gun marks. He has performed experiments in THIS case to prove the marks on JonBenét were from a stun gun.

His name - Mike Dobersen.

Want to see a photo of Boggs?

NOPE, NOPE...it looks like a snap. Look at it with a magnifying glass. Real close. Closer. Does it look like a snap abrasion yet? Keep looking until it does. You're not holding the magnifying glass right. Turn it this way. Now look.

That is a huge bruise for such a pointed contact also. I guess they don't even have to match...remember our discussions about the shape of the marks on JonBenet?

I put up the photo so you could see he accidently fell asleep with his toy stun gun and THAT is why these marks match! Just pressure marks.

The stun gun in the photo appears to have 4 electrical probes but only 2 burn marks. Is that the stun gun that was used on him if it is why is there not 4 burn marks.

11. "3-4 *Burn marks*"
In response to message #10

First of all, regardless of what Spitz says, marks left by a stun gun aren't usually *burn* marks; the marks are usually abrasions made by electricity dancing across the skin. Doberson & Stratbucker and others have documented that stun guns leave "signature marks", not burns. The marks made by a stun gun can vary a LOT--depending on how close the probes are held to the skin or if they probes are pressed into the skin, how long the electric current touches the skin, the angle the probes are held to the skin, whether both probes (or in a few cases like Boggs, 4 probes) actually touch the skin, etc

Dr Doberson compared the actual stun gun found in a suspect's possesion to the exhumed body of Boggs to demonstrate where the probes had touched the skin and how the probes lined up with the marks found on the skin after death.

In response to message #11

What if the stun gun is used and the vict has on clothing will it still leave marks. The marks on JB back must have been left through her night gown are pajamas. I've seen several stun guns but must admitt I've never been shocked by one.

In response to message #12

   I know it's a stun gun, too.

The 48 Hours episode interviewed some old guy who is supposed to be an expert in firenzics (I know it's spelled wrong, but I'm blank). This guy said that he KNEW -- was 100% CERTAIN, that is was not from a stun-gun, yet NEVER said what it WAS from. Well, one he said was a button, but how does he explain the others? And how does he manage to poo-poo the fact that the distances between marks are exactly the same?

14. "Marks through clothing"
In response to message #12

are apparently left by stun guns, as the electricity travels through clothing unimpeded.

JonBenét was wearing a top and pj bottoms, which made it very possible for her to have been stunned on bare skin where her top *rode up* from the bottoms. I don't know if it's possible to tell whether the stun gun marks on her back were made through the fabric of her top or not.

The two marks on her face, which are approximately 3.5 cm apart-- the same distance the two marks on her back are spaced-- can be deduced to have not been made through the sheet and blanket she was sleeping underneath UNLESS she slept with the covers over her head.

The pair of marks on her back look very similar to the marks Doberson created with an AirTaser on pigs' skin. The larger of the two marks on JonBenét's face looks very similar to the largest of 3 marks caused by a stun gun on Dobb's face (after being exhumed).

15. "from 48 Hours"
In response to message #0

Erin Moriarty: (Voice Over) "But more than any other evidence, Smit believes these small marks left on
JonBenét's face and back prove an intruder killed her."

Lou Smit: "The killer had a stun gun. I am sure the killer had a stun gun."

Erin Moriarty: (Voice Over) "A stun gun, an electrical weapon used to incapacitate the little girl in
order
to move her to the basement. Smit believes only an intruder would need to use one. "

Lou Smit: "There is no reason at all for the parents to have used a stun gun to help stage the murder
of
their daughter."

Erin Moriarty: "Was there any indication that the Ramsey's had ever owned a stun gun?"

Lou Smit: "There was nothing to indication that the Ramsey's ever owned a stun gun"

Erin Moriarty: (Voice Over) "What is significant about these injuries, says Smit, is that those on the
child's face, and those on her back, appear to be an equal distant apart".

Lou Smit: "They are approximately 3.5 centimeters"

Erin Moriarty: (Voice Over) "Much like the prongs of this stun gun"

Lou Smit: "And they are approximately 3.5 centimeters apart."

Dr. Michael Dobersen: "And if I push this..."

(Dr. Michael Dobersen demonstrates stun gun)

Erin Moriarty: (Voice Over) "Dr. Michael Dobersen"

Dr. Michael Dobersen: "...you can see the electricity arching"

Erin Moriarty: (Voice Over) "The coroner for neighboring Arapahoe County, also believes the marks on
JonBenét were left by a stun gun."

Dr. Michael Dobersen: "What we have to do is match up the injuries with the weapon."

Erin Moriarty: (Voice Over) "And to prove it, he used one on the skin of an anesthetized pig."

(images of the stun gunned pig and marks on JonBenét)

Erin Moriarty: "What am I seeing on the left?"

Lou Smit: "What you are seeing on the left, is, you're seeing the actual injury on the back of
JonBenét,
the marks are similar in size and shape and color and they are a certain distant apart.. On the pig too,
you see marks that were left on the skin of the pig."

Erin Moriarty: (Voice Over) "While there are some differences, both Dobersen and Smit believe the
experiment confirms a stun gun was used."

Dr. Michael Dobersen: "If it's not a stun gun, I would like to know what it is."

Erin Moriarty: (Voice Over) "Three other pathologists agreed, but the Boulder Police are relying instead

on this man's opinion."

(Erin Moriarty talking with forensic pathologist, Dr. Werner Spitz)

Erin Moriarty: "How sure are you that it's not a stun gun?"

Dr. Werner Spitz: "Well I'm a hundred percent sure because stun gun injuries don't look like that."

Erin Moriarty: (Voice Over) "Dr. Werner Spitz, a nationally known pathologist who has worked on
major cases including the assassination of J.F. Kennedy."

(photos of marks on pig and marks on JonBenét)

Erin Moriarty: "This was found on her and this was done on a pig skin."

Dr. Werner Spitz: "Are you telling me that this looks to you like the other one, the one that JonBenét
has? They don't look like that to me, at all. A stun gun injury is an electrical burn, it's a burn,
essentially. And these don't look like burns."

Erin Moriarty: (Voice Over) "Instead, Spitz believes the large dark mark on JonBenét's face was left by
a snap on a piece of clothing."

Dr. Werner Spitz: "You know like the snaps they have on blue jeans, for instance. If you look at this
one below the ear, this thing here. If you look at it closely with a magnifying glass you will see within
this brownish mark there is a boat shaped structure which is missing in any of the other injuries."

Erin Moriarty: (Voice Over) "Unfortunately, with only photographs to go by, no expert, not Dr. Spitz
and not Dr. Dobersen, can be one hundred percent sure."

(Moriarty talking with Smit and Dobersen)

Erin Moriarty: "Wouldn't that have been or the best way to know or come the closest to knowing, is if
you could have exhumed the body and line up a stun gun and see if it matches those injuries?"

Lou Smit: "Sure, I believe that would have been the most accurate way to do it."

Erin Moriarty: (Voice Over) "Lou Smit admits that in the months following JonBenét's death,
investigators considered going to court to have her body exhumed but decided against it."

John Ramsey: "We had buried our child, she was in peace, that was just an abhorant thought"

Erin Moriarty: "But John that might have been the one way to know for sure, that could have resolved
the whole issue, because if a stun gun was used, it was not the parents."

John Ramsey: "Certainly, and we've got people who told us who know what they are doing that with
95% medical certainty that a stun gun was used. No question."

Erin Moriarty: "But you would have known with a hundred percent certainty if you had exhumed the
body, as tough as that would have been."

John Ramsey: "That's my child you're talking about, not a body. It's different."

Erin Moriarty: (Voice Over) "Still Smit believes a stun gun is the key to JonBenét's murder."

Lou Smit: "I see the killer at the end of the intruder path"

Erin Moriarty: (Voice Over) "And he's searching for the killer or killers who own one."

Lou Smit: "The person who did this, if we're right, he's still out there."
