I would suggest you post his photo and story here as well as at other missing children forums - - someone may know something and come forward with some information. Then spend the time necessary to list the sites on search engines so if he should one day get to a computer and type in his name he will see you have been trying very hard to get some news.

Please let us know a bit more about his disappearance. I went to your site but didn't find information about when he disappeared, what he had been doing, who was the last person to see him. Had he had problems at home that you may have underestimated?

Be brutally honest - tell everything you can think of. What did he have an interest in? Music? Playing an instrument or maybe listening to one group? Did he like to play Magic The Gathering or watch people get tatoos? You may not like sharing so much but if it can make someone understand he might like to hang out.

The Internet can make a big difference if we just use it in the right way.

I hope your sone is OK, and that he calls you to tell you so.

Thank you for the suggestions. I have done these things. A search for his name gives many hits. He is on a dozen or more sites for adults. The "Our Story" button on the website gives the basics: On June 13, 2001, Jason was called in to work early. His car was in the shop all week, so he had no way to get to work in the morning. He told the manager that he would walk, but they called him back & made arrangements to meet at Benson High School, 8 blocks away from our home. Jason has a difficult time giving directions, & meeting at his former high school probably seemed logical to him. He showered & dressed, & was last seen by his little brother, Michael, bringing in the trash cans, as the trash pickup had taken place that morning. The neighbor also saw Jason taking the cans into the garage. Jason was wearing black dress shoes & black dress pants & carrying his red work t-shirt. He wore a white Chicago Cubs or Sammy Sosa t-shirt, & a blue Chicago Cubs baseball hat. This occurred at approximately 10:45 am. Within 30-45 minutes, the employer called our home to see if Jason was there, as he did not show up at the high school. No one has seen or heard from Jason since then. He has not touched his bank account, used his cell phone, picked up his checks from work, or inquired about or attempted to pick up his car from the body shop. He also was to have started a new job the following week, & he did not call or show up for the new job, which he was excited about. We estimate, based on the amount of his last check, & the deposit he made, that he didn't have more than $60 with him, if even that. Jason is a very shy individual & typically did not pursue social activities. For the most part, he was either at work or home. He did not appear to be interested in alcohol or drugs. He has a close relationship with his family, & it is hard to believe that he would purposely stay away without even contacting us, although we realize that this is not outside of the realm of possibilities. As we don't have any clues, anything is possible. We HOPE that it is just a case of Jason just wanting to get away from life's pressures for awhile as the alternative to that scenario is unbearable to think about. It just seems odd that if he had run away, that at the very least, he would have taken his checkbook or picked up his checks from work. As we have no leads, we are trying to reach every citizen because someone has to have seen him. We love our son and just want him back home with us.

There are & have been no clues in this case.

Thanks for asking & caring.

Kelly

How about his friends - have they been willing to help? They would know where a kid might go for a place to crash for a while, or they may know about some adult inviting kids to their house as some kind of "friend" situation (maybe something you wouldn't approve of, but as parents we can always get over THOSE situations.)

They may hesitate to come forward without the promise of anonymity - but maybe they could be asked to leave a message some other way - - just drop an envelope addressed to you in a library drop box or leave such an envelope on a table in a local diner - - something, anything to get information to you.

Have you been pleased with LE's efforts to help?

I might suggest you reach out for other groups to help - - I know motorcycle clubs have been helpful in more than one case similar to this. But other groups, too, might be helpful.

Service organizations are always looking for free speakers. Don't laugh - a bunch of Lions or Elks or Rotory Club members might just be the ones to know how to get the word out where you would never think. Some of them are retired, have the time to help if they see a worthwhile cause. And they travel and meet others - - they have newsletters.

I wish I could bring your boy home. I am sure we all feel the same - but we can't. Still, maybe some suggestion made here will help you reach out to someone who can and will.

   Dear Kelly,

I'm so sorry about your son. I have a son the same age as Jason. My heart breaks for you and your family.

Please, don't ever give up hope.

Have the police considered that he may have been lured by a co-worker or his boss, for whatever unknown reason? Just a thought. He was called into work early and they just happen to pick him up at an out of the way place. He was going to start a new job you say? Maybe there's something there.

Would he have ever gotten into a car with a stranger?

I really wish I could help you! God Bless and watch over you and your family.

Thank you both for those helpful hints. Believe me, everything you suggested has been done & thoroughly. We do keep hope. In fact, I always say that I know I will see him again...I just do not know if it will be in this earthly life.

Merry Christmas!

Kelly

Posting for Kelly... Mother of missing Jason Jolkowski

Do you live in Nebraska, or know anyone who does? I'm looking for Nebraskans to email their state Senators to let them know that Nebraska needs & deserves a real Missing Person's Clearinghouse. I'm struggling with this because people are ignorant when it comes to this issue. They do not understand the scope and magnitude of this problem. See this article in our newspaper:

http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_np=0&u_pg...38&u_sid=994645

If you can help, please email me. Thank you.
