Richwoods, MO – September 22nd, 2003 – The Shawn Hornbeck Foundation’s Sitting With An Angel campaign sets it’s sights on Quincy, Illinois this Friday, featuring a bench dedication for Kimberly Dawn McClaskey, as well as offering it’s free MyID4Life Digital ID Kits to area children aged 17 and under.

The Sitting With An Angel campaign is a result of a partnership between The Shawn Hornbeck Foundation and Creative Placard Ads of Granite City, Illinois. The partnership places benches featuring the photo and case information about missing children at high traffic retail establishments throughout the Midwest.

The seventh Angel to be featured in the ‘Sitting With An Angel’ bench campaign will be Kimberly Dawn McClaskey, missing from London Mills, Illinois since July 16, 1983. Kimberly was on her way to visit a cousin in London Mills, and planned to return home that same evening. Her belongings were found on July 16, 1983 in the Spoon River in London Mills. Kimberly was 17 years old at the time of her disappearance, and she is classified as a non-family abduction.

Kimberly’s bench will be dedicated on Friday, September 26th, at 3:00pm. The bench will be placed at County Market, 3001 Broadway, Quincy, Illinois 62301. The public and media are invited to attend the dedication ceremony.

The foundation’s MyID4Life Digital ID program for children aged 17 and under will also be available before the dedication from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. All participants receive their child’s digital fingerprints and photos on a diskette to take home with them. The diskette can then be given to law enforcement should the need arise. This program is offered free of charge as a public service; donations are accepted to help offset the cost of the program.

For more information on participating in the Sitting With An Angel program please contact Craig Akers with The Shawn Hornbeck Foundation at 866 400-5353 or Tom Nash, Creative Placard Ads, at 877 894-0405.
