"Wrong about the BPD"

They are highly skilled and competent--they said so themselves in their press releases. All calls were logged and monitored.....Michael's call must be in a log somewhere.

2. "They had a plan in Jan. 1997"
In response to message #1

on how they were going to investigate the case. Almost 6 years later....no resolution---was that in their PLAN? 10 to l5 police personnel were assigned to the case then---and none of them could return a phone call to Michael?

3. "Think there will be a press release"
In response to message #2

this week about the 48 hours show? I do, and I think they'll chastise CBS, the Ramseys, and Lou Smit on revealing "sensitive" information....and they'll say the BPD are right on top of the investigation.....and the citizens of Boulder can have full faith in their police dept. I think they'll hide under their UMBRELLA of secrecy......and not say much of anything.

I'd like to hear them say Oliva is cleared--they did a thorough investigation, including handwriting analysis...blood and cigarette DNA, and the man is clean as a whistle.

4. "CA connection"
In response to message #3

Remember when a reporter asked something about the CA connection? We wondered what it was - - many thought later that had to be Nancy krebs but.... I have to wonder if it might not have been these tapes they chose to ignore.

Wasn't a BORG lead, let's just file it in the circular file - -

In response to message #4

Realizing there was a public relations disaster looming on the horizon, Chief Beckner not only had a detective on the CBS set, but managed to be available Saturday morning to say the BPD had not cleared anyone.

What he meant was the BPD had not cleared anyone you saw on CBS last night, which would include the wild-eyed child molester Churchmouse, who quite possibly could have had the motive, means, and opportunity to kill JBR.

the program, too. The grocery remark could have been sarcastic humor, since JR mentioned he couldn't even go to the grocery store without seeing the tabloid headlines. I suppose they had to have someone from the BPD at the interview---they were probably invited. If they didn't go, CBS could say the BPD were invited, but declined to attend.

The failure to follow up on the Oliva tip from 'Michael' illustrates perfectly the argument made in the past that regardless of however many hours spent investigating, however many 'leads' were pursued, however many dollars were spent: the object was to find incriminating evidence against the Ramseys.

Whether Gary Oliva is the culprit or not, the fact that the BPD never returned 'Michael's' phone calls is pitiful.

This thread is all about Michael's call and Oliva, but there's no clue what that means. I'm about to go look at the other threads, but this is just a friendly suggestion that when starting a new thread, kind of give the subject a nutshell summary. Just a suggestion. Thx.
