"be prepared for more Ramsey stories"

I got a phone call yesterday asking me why Lin Wood has approached major news outlets and advised them that they might want to be prepared to do a Ramsey story in the next few weeks.

I don't know what that is all about - Lin Wood and I don't compare notes.

BUT... I think that the 48 Hours show may reopen the discussion and Patsy may have something to say that she will want to say very publicly. This case is far from dead - if Beckner and the Boulder Police Department are not interested in actively persuing it, I say maybe it is time they give it up so someone can.

I wonder if the possible release of Steve Thomas's deposition will turn up the heat on the BPD - and prompt some discussion among legal experts on whether it's time for the BPD to turn over the case to anotother agency.

Also, the upcoming Tuite trial (for the murder of Stephanie Crowe) will offer some interesting parallels on what can happen when police departments focus on the family and fail to move on to other suspects. In that case, as we know, the investigation was plucked from the Escondido PD after they compromised prosecution of Tuite by arresting Stephanie's brother and his friends for her murder.

After the numerous recent in-home abductions and attacks, it's been proven that an intruder could easily have entered the Ramsey home undetected while the family slept.

Well, if Lin did call the networks with that advice, he knew that he was going to go forward and talk about the depositions and the possibility that he would be fighting to have the case taken away from the BPD and moved to another group of investigators.

It seems all this has been well planned and orchestrated.

I think this shows, as much as anything, that the Ramseys do NOT want to quietly disappear - - they are fighting for justice.

.... much of the media will remain BORG and ignore some parts while they jump on anything that can be spun BORG.

Witness the CBS program. Oliva was outted and that was a GREAT way to show how limited the investigation was. But that wasn't covered much in the media. Nope - - they jumped on Patsy's answer about the fibers in the paint tray and garotte - - and I think it is clear she didn't understand the question asked. If she had, she would have spoken about how she wore the jacket at other times, the fibers being in the tote would not be hard to explain. She wore that jacket Christmas day - - could easily have transferred fibers to JBR's clothing. In addition, both John and Fleet comforted her on the morning of the 26th - -and they both handled the tape before police took it in as evidence.

Whatever.... the point is, the BORG media will be out there spinning. I hope Lin Wood is ready to deal with that.

When it comes to fiber evidence, there really isn't much that can be said until all of the information about them becomes available. We need to know what other fibers were found in the paint tray and all of the other places the BPD said they were found. We need to know what color they were.

As far as I know, whether or not the fibers actually exist in the form and locations presented by the BPD is still in question. The question about the fibers asked to Patsy was a hypothetical. I guess I'm seeing this like Lin Wood does - show me the evidence and then we can talk about it. But, not just the fibers that supposedly came from Patsy's jacket, I want to see them all. I want to see how many of them came from someone who didn't live there - source unknown, as well as where they were found. Those are much more interesting than the fibers that came from the people who were in the house every day.

Beckner's statement about not being sure that Patsy was involved in the murder, recently made public, is very interesting. If those fibers were a match, and were everywhere the BPD has indicated they were in their questioning of Patsy - including being embedded in the garrote - I think Chief Beckner would think she was the "killa".
