A letter from a mother:

<i>My son has been missing since Tuesday August 27th. Through the
efforts of my husband posting posters and speaking with area
businesses we have had three sightings of my son in the downtown
Chicago, Michigan Avenue (Watertower Place) and Loop area (an "el"
stop) between Thursday evening and Friday afternoon. Our family is
from Iowa and we are not familiar with the Chicago area. We could use
whatever help anyone would be willing to give us to locate our son. My

us. My son is 16 years old, 5'9", 135lbs, blue eyes, short blondish
brown hair, thin with slight acne on his face. He is driving a 1998
white 4 door Ford Explorer with Iowa license plates. He may have
parked the car in a lot or ramp and is walking or using public
transportation. He is a quiet boy who had a minor problem at school
and thinks that his life is now over. Alex is my only child and the

He is driving a 1998 white Ford Explorer Limited. It most likely has Iowa License plates on it but we can't be sure.....

The possible plate numbers are:
IOWA 201 DCS and 727 ESE, both from Polk County.
(The county names are listed in small type centered under the numbers.

The media has been contacted, but because Alex was sighted in Chicago and not in the area where the family lives, the family has not been able to get any response to their requests for radio or television coverage. It would help if they knew a list of radio stations that young people listen to in the Chicago area. That way they could target those stations. They have had between 3 to 5 people covering the downtown Chicago area talking to people and leaving posters. They could use more.
