"LHP"

One of the things about this case which has never truly been addressed has been that prior to the night of JonBenet's abduction, LHP needed money.

WHY did the woman not come into work, as she was scheduled to, and instead called Patsy to borrow money?

Wouldn't you assume someone who needed money would take all the overtime/extra work (holiday or not) they could get?

LHP was aware of the routine of this family and their intended trip out of town.

Wasn't the ransom note found in close proximity to where the requested check would have been left?

I don't know about the work ethic and that family. It may not be too stellar, but LHP and her husband do seem to provide a home and seem to be functioning fairly well. The appear to be paying their bils. I don't think their liquor bill goes unpaid.

Apparently she was a part time housekeeper. It seems she was not a particularly good one but it also seems she was not a particularly bad one.

Money problems?
Half of Boulder has money problems.

Loan? Check was for fairly small amount. A far greater amount could have been obtained from the tabloids if LHP had originally sold her story so I doubt there was much of a 'money angle'.

I'm not suggesting this murder was carried out as a money issue.

The issue I am speaking of is this, if the woman was so broke and needed money at that time-, why then wouldn't she have gone to work as was scheduled?

Instead, she called in missing, a day of work, and asked to borrow money.

IF I needed money, I certainly wouldn't call off work regardless.

So you think it might well have been an elaborate ruse: "No officer, I would be the last person to kill her daughter, Patsy was about to give me a check for a small loan that I really need".

Perhaps, but it doesn't seem to sensible. Alot of work and planning went into the crime, and what on earth would the housekeeper want to invest all that time and energy for? She didn't go around killing her other customers.

5. "Are you sure?"
In response to message #4

Are you sure that she was due to come in that day?

I doubt that she killed JonBenet, but someone close to her could have.

6. "Someone close?"
In response to message #0

Many have theorized about someone close to LHP,,,but many have also replied with comments about her hubby being close to a bottle of booze and their friends and relatives being the type for unplanned, direct action, not a crime of stealth or daring.

Who knows if a housekeeper such as LHP had complained of wealth differentials in their standard of living?

I somehow doubt LHP or any of her friends had anything to do with this.

7. "I think"
In response to message #6

I think the killer left his handwriting feeling he would NOT be a suspect - - that he would NOT be asked for a sample.

Uneducated or not, I don't think LHP is THAT stupid to think no one would ask her about the daughter of her employer being gone. I don't think she would have left any note.

BUT - - we know that LHP and her husband and her daughter and son-in-law had done work in that house - - KNEW the house - had access to the amount of the bonus ($118,000) if they chose to snoop at all. If they were with friends, I wonder if THEY would have talked about the "fat cats with the little pageant princess" who lived in Boulder. Why, here they were scrounging to pay for rent money and JOHN (the fat cat) got a BONUS of - - you won't believe it!

Maybe THAT person got them to talk about the house - the many rooms, the work they did there - - like the broken window Mervin was ASKED to fix in the basement.

Could that be our killer?

I think it is a reasonable possibility and the housekeeper and her family shoulf have been asked about that - - but it seems that didn't happen.

I would LOVE to have a copy of the early interviews of the housekeeper and others.
