Criminal Justice Conference: Crime and the Media:
Implications for Public Policy

8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, June 14 Mary D'Angelo Performing Arts Center

Due to an unfortunate cancellation, the slate of speakers for annual Mercyhurst Criminal Justice Conference has been revised. Edward Miller, senior correspondent and managing editor for "America's Most Wanted," will replace Steve Thomas at the Mercyhurst College criminal justice conference scheduled for Friday, June 14.

I would love to attend one of Steve Thomas' lectures. If anyone is aware of one where the public might attend, please let me know.

If you know where Donald Foster is lecturing, share that as well.

I think both should be challenged if they misrepresent the facts of the Ramsey case.

I don't get THAT! Who wants to hear a rookie cop talk about how he totally screwed up his first and last case? Not to mention how he helped drive John and Patsy to where they are now?

Fuhrman did help solve the Moxley murder.

I guess even a broken clock is right twice a day and some people will strain to listen to grass grow.

He the call from the west coast approximately six days before he was scheduled to appear and cited "personal reasons."

I think he is concerned that someone in the audience might be "educated" on his work and ask some questions he does not want to address.

Steve Thomas Responds to Ramsey Libel Suit

"I stand by my convictions. The Ramseys have no right to silence me or anyone else who wishes to seek the truth and speak out about this horrible tragedy of injustice.

I will vigorously defend myself against the Ramseys' lawsuit and look forward to the opportunity to expose in a court of law what happened in the Ramsey home on Christmas night 1996."

6. "Supporters still wait"
In response to message #5

His supporters - people like Candy, Carolbell, ACandyRose, Elle, SmellTheCoffee - still wait for some explanation from Steve Thomas.

His supporters have expressed disappointment and anger at his decision to walk away from the fight - - NOT to fight - - could it be he was wrong all along? People want to hear his side.

Just this week, some have expressed frustration at his silence, asked for insight from him. They have wondered if he has been gagged on the subject (he has not).

Thomas spoke his peace - he settled rather than go to court to prove he was right.

Sort of like the anonymous posters who jump in a forum, fill it with their delusions oe outright lies, then disappear.

Thomas hasn't stood up and admitted he was wrong - - but he was, the evidence proves he was wrong. He and his good friend Donald Foster have been discredited. And his supporters still wait for some explanation.
