"Dr. Robert Stratbucker exits stage left"

Thursday, after Lin Wood had cross-examined Dr. Robert Stratbucker for approximately 3 hours (of a planned 7 hour deposition), Darnay Hoffman suddenly and permanently withdrew Stratbucker as an expert witness in the Wolf case.

NYL had been counting on Stratbucker to dispute the stun gun testimony of Lou Smit and Mike Dobersen - apparently he realized that he had bet on a loser and decided to cut his losses.

Lin had a folder full of information available to discredit Stratbucker as a witness, he was ready to go at him for 7 hours, but that was cut short - the deposition ended when Stratbucker was withdrawn as a witness.

Anyone out there who relies on Stratbucker to refute the stun gun theory of Smit and Dobersen will have to look elsewhere.

Thomas, Wecht, Stratbucker...
"another one bites the dust...."

   beat all!

Stratbucker isn't such an expert on stun gun evidence found at autopsy, after all.

Any chance the 3 hours they did get will be released?

The Ramseys released their depositions - hopefully all of them will see the light of day.

Let the truth be known and the chips fall where they may.

Hooray. Thanks for the great news. I wonder if NYL will ever get that he has been wrong all along.

5. "some doozy?"
In response to message #4

Sure must have been some doozy, when you think of all that utter garbage that does get in as expert testimony, you know that if the attorney proposing the witness withdraws him, its got to be really bad.

6. "NYL hasn't had luck"
In response to message #5

has he? He lost his handwriting expert, Larry Ziegler and now Stratbucker. But I don't think it necessarily means Stratbucker is a goofball - I think it means he agrees with Smit and Doberson's conclusions and therefore is of no use to NYL.

Steve Thomas didn't show him ALL the autopsy photos when he asked Stratbuacker's opinion on the stun gun marks - which influenced Stratbucker's answer. Didn't he later come out and say he thought the marks were consistent with a stun gun?

7. "I think"

   Stratbucker's opinion was for sale.

That's just how I see it - and I certainly have the right to say so.

But when he was faced with the facts and the opportunity to support his own theory, he, like Steve Thomas, wasn't credible so didn't end up fighting for his cause.

8. "NYL should have listened to us!"

No one can rufute that those were stun gun marks, and Dobersen is one of the better experts because he learned from his first mistake in the Boggs trial.
