Lucinda said, "After Melinda called me from
Boulder after she had been interrogated and she said, " Mom, they questioned me for 2 1/2 hours and I
finally put my head down on the table and cried." When you hear this over the phone, you know, it's
terrible.

Kurtis: Even some journalists questioned the police refusal to rule out Melinda, and particularly
John Andrew, as suspects even though they knew neither could have killed JonBenét.

Reporter: Maybe I'm just being real dense here, but if somebody is not in the state, then how can
you not rule them out as a suspect?

Kelvin McNeil: I understand your question and what I will tell you is that we are not at a point
where we are prepared to rule anyone out or rule anyone in as a potential suspect. We are going to follow
the information in this case wherever it takes us, Dan.

Dan: So you have 260 million Americans as suspects right now?

McNeil shrugged.

I've always felt that grinning spokesman was an idiot but that he was truly representative of the BPD.

They knew JAR was in Atlanta, but they did not want to admit to themselves or the public that being over a thousand miles away let him off the hook.

They wanted to 'reserve their right' to go after someone known to be far too distant to have done the crime simply because the BPD's focus was on "the family" and they were not going to let anyone in the family off the hook, not ever.

Make an obvious conclusion that someone over a thousand miles away at the time didn't do it? Nope! We have an agenda and we are going to stick to it. We have a campaign to conduct. Don't bother us with the obvious.

The comeback was good from Dan "So you have 260 million Americans as suspects?".

The BPD are idiots. Plain and simple.

I believe that Dan was Dan Glick. He was one of few media people who fought back for answers. Others followed the BORG chum to advance their careers.

The BPD threw out the bloody garbage and the sharks swarmed.

It was ugly.
