#0, Thomas deposition coming out?
Posted by jameson on Oct-25-02 at 10:02 AM
LAST EDITED ON Oct-25-02 AT 10:36 AM (EST)

This is a transcript of what the TODAY show had of Steve Thomas'
deposition. They said there will be a longer segment Monday, probably
7-8 am. (In case you missed it.)
This is just a bit of the Thomas deposition - it was on the TODAY show this morning - - they will have a longer segment on next Monday.

Q. (Lin Wood) There was a lot of evidence that has never even been
collected or even requested, true?
A. (Thomas) Such as the clothing?
Q. The clothes, that's a key piece of evidence, isn't it, sir?
A. Correct. As I have said, that was a mistake.
Q. Yeah, and it was one of many mistakes, wasn't it?
A. I'm not here today defending the police department.
Q. I'm not asking you to defend the police department.
A. Yeah, there were many mistakes.

I am looking forward to seeing the whole thing.

I didn't realize there was a Today show segment on Ramsey today or coming up Monday.

Will there be a full transcript of today's program?

P.S.- I hope the entire ST deposition is coming out and soon---I want to read every morsel!

Me too - I didn't know it was going to come on this morning - - I got this in email and understand this was all there was - like a teaser for what will come out Monday on the show.

I know most of the Thomas dposition will be released - the judge is just dealing with a few parts that Thomas wants redected - - I don't know if those parts are going to be released but if they aren't really personal - -like his SS# or passwords, I don't see why they should not be released. He said most of it in his book - - and the important thing was he WAS totally unwilling to seriously look at intruder theories. That's no secret.

Oh, yes - I can't wait.

I've been wanting to know for years if ST was the driving force behind the anti-Ramsey tone of the Vanity Fair article. I've wondered if he has been an "army of one" fielded against the Ramseys since almost day one.

I heard long ago when I was in Boulder that Steve Thomas was the one talking to Vanity Fair. I believed it then and believe it now. I just wondered if there was anyone else involved.

Her story was full of misinformation - - I never understood why she wasn't forced to retract the statements but that was pretty early on, before lawsuits started.

The fact is, the Ramseys were suspects from day 1 - - I don't think they can sue anyone for saying that. And if Thomas and/or anyone else from the BPD was giving misinformation to the media, should the media really be held at fault?

Like the "no footsteps in the snow" - - we know Lou Smit was told about that before he took the job and he thought that made it an inside job. He didn't question any of that until he saw the photographs.

I wish Thomas had studied the evidence as hard.
