Child molester sentenced to 107 years to life

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Associated Press

MERCED, Calif. (AP) - A 46-year-old Merced man has been sentenced to 107 years to life in prison for molesting four girls under the age of 9.

Chris Alan Lamb, who was convicted last November on nine counts of child molestation, looked straight ahead and showed no remorse as Merced County Superior Court Judge Ronald W. Hansen pronounced the sentence Friday.

"Mr. Lamb is a threat to society," the judge said.

Deputy District Attorney David Sandhaus said Lamb will have to serve 91 years before being eligible for parole.

I don't know why you are encouraging people to become spammers.
Most of those reply to addresses are innocent victim's whose computers have become infected with a virus. And it seems you are encouraging people to send spam to people who may not have any interest at all in the topic of your email.

Draconian measures are a great boon to politicians. Almost any idiot can get elected nowadays if he remembers "against taxes, against crime and pure hell for child molesters". These knee-jerk sloganizing campaigns are more reminiscent of a lynch mob than a civilized society.
I do not think justice is served with mandatory minimums and draconian measures that will only be expanded to enmesh defendants despite situations wherein such severe punishment is not merited.
Obviously at nine years, society should come down hard on that creep, but with this frenzy for blanket Draconian measures you are only encouraging an attitude where truly consentual activity will lead to great hardship and suffering and an erosion of our society's sense of justice. Perhaps we need strong measures against those who encourage the sending of spam, YOU!

You might consider what is happening to the 33 year old hero of the WTC disaster.
He had sex with a 17 year old girl whom he met when visiting her school for an award. The relationship deepened and he is being prosecuted for having had sex with the woman to whom he is now married. Do you think he should get 107 years in jail?

Oregon authorities seem very prompt to act when the sex is consentual and the woman is 17 but less inclined to act when the sex is involuntary and the girls are 12 and 13 years old.

Matthew De Gennaro is facing a mandatory minimum of 70 months in prison if convicted. The guy met the girl when he went to her high school as part of a presentation on 9/11. Later, sexually explicit photos of Degennaro and the girl were found by her parents. The photos were taken in a motel room. The girl's parents turned De Gennaro in to the police for sexual abuse of their daughter.

Imo, this COP deserves jail. The girl was a victim, she just doesn't realize it yet. If the COP had any respect for this young girl there would be no pornograpy involved. He knew it was against the law. It is called child pornography.

Child Sex Trial to Start for NYC Cop

February 16, 2004, 11:15 AM EST

The couple met in March 2002, when De Gennaro visited Oregon to speak to high school students about his experiences after the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. He and Nicole struck up a friendship, and he came back to visit her.

They allegedly spent time together in a Linn County hotel room in August 2002, where they took sexually explicit photos. Nicole was 17 at the time.

When her father and stepmother found the photos, they turned them over to authorities. De Gennaro was arrested Sept. 8, 2003, in New York, and charged with the crimes in Linn County Circuit Court.

Nicole flew to New York in July and married De Gennaro two days after his mother paid his bail. He has pleaded innocent to the charges, and his lawyer, David A. Hill of Eugene, claims that De Gennaro did not know how old she was when he took the photos.

Well the NYC cop was acquitted today. I think the outcome may have been quite different if this had been a jury trial.

I can't help but wonder if his acquittal has anything to do with his 9/11 status? He took the sex photos and the girl was underage. Guilty in my opinion. What kind of message is this sending? :(

'SEX' COP WALKS

February 19, 2004 -- ALBANY, Ore. - An NYPD officer on trial for taking nude photos of an underage girl he later married was acquitted yesterday.
Matthew De Gennaro, 33, of New City in Rockland County, was found not guilty of using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct as well as child sex abuse in a trial heard by a judge without a jury.
