Q. On page 270 of your book. Chief Beckner started talking about a successful Title-3 electronic
surveillance down in Florida where the police had recorded the mother saying 'The baby is dead and
buried ... because you did it' and the father replied 'I wish I hadn't harmed her -- it was the cocaine',
end quote. "I considered the irony of Beckner discussing a Title-3 that worked damned well in Florida
when he had been a part of the scandal-frightened leadership that wouldn't let us try the same
tactic."
Have I read that correctly? A. I believe so.
Q. That was the Aisenberg case, wasn't it, Mr. Thomas?
A. That is the case that is being referred to here, yes.
Q. Right. You understand that charge was dismissed against the family because the transcripts of
the tapes were not consistent with the representations made as to the content by the police?
A. I'm not familiar with that.
Q. You hadn't tried to study what happened to the Aisenberg case at all?
A. No, as we sit here today I don't know the conclusion of the Aisenberg case.
Q. I would suggest it would be interesting for you to look into it in your spare time.
I left this out of the 911 tape threads - - but I think it is important. We have not heard the tape - - the BPD didn't want us to hear it- - have to wonder why?
Burke's voice is not on the 911 tape - - the 'enhancements' are not clear, likely the reason two enhancements resulted in 2 totally different transcripts is that they were enhanced different - - and neither enhancement should be trusted.
But certain cops, in the Aisenberg case and in Ramsey, certain cops let the lies stand. Playing to the BORG media and the lynch mob outside.
I have to wonder at what point "Burke's voice on the 911 tape" arose, compared to when it was known that Burke was actually awake in his bed when the BPD cop looked in his room, and Burke pretended to be asleep. (poor little guy was probably scared, so feigned sleeping) Is it such a leap that "Burke's voice on the 911 tape" was due to the Ramseys not knowing when they first talked to the police, that he was awake? That some of the BPD were bound and determined to find SOMETHING inconsistent and put it out there in the media? I'd like to see the report released that said there was a voice that said "what did you find?" Knowing what we know now about how things were skewed, it wouldn't surprise me it's all a big fat lie.
Too bad ST was so uninterested in the Aisenberg case---he would have learned they sued----and these conversations that were supposedly heard did not exist. I don't know if there's been a settlement yet.
