"The older Ramsey children"
Posted by jameson on Dec-23-01 at 09:01 PM (EST)

John was married before - and there were three children from that first marriage.
We all know that Beth was killed in a car accident, John and the entire family was devastated.
The other children have grown. Melinda is married, a mother to a toddler. John Andrew is on his own, involved in a very long term relationship. The family is close, there have been no great feuds, no one has "left" the family.
I just wanted to remind people tht these adult kids are very supportive of both John and Patsy. So.... I will post some quotes here...

Table of Contents
Melinda quotes, jameson, 09:01 PM, Dec-23-01
from John Andrew, jameson, 09:02 PM, Dec-23-01
Inspiring and comforting, DonBradley, 07:41 AM, Dec-25-01
I remember, Summer, 07:21 PM, Dec-25-01

Messages in this discussion
1 . "Melinda quotes"
Posted by jameson on Dec-23-01 at 09:01 PM (EST)

Quotes from Melinda - age 26
.
"I first met Patsy when I was seven or eight years old, after my parents had been divorced for a couple of
years. For some reason, one of my first impressions was that she seemed so full of energy. As we got to
know each other, we became very close and we still are. We are not related by blood, but we are related
by love."
.
Patsy "treated us like her own children. It meant a lot to me as a child when she introduced me to people
as "My daughter, Melinda". She didn't make the distinction of "step child". But she also didn't cross the
line and try to become our mother. She didn't discipline us."
.
"It breaks my heart to see these horrible accusations being made about Dad and Patsy. They are
wonderful parents!"

2 . "from John Andrew"
Posted by jameson on Dec-23-01 at 09:02 PM (EST)

Quotes from John Andrew - age 22
.
"I ws very young when Dad met Patsy and I don't remember much about the first years. I know I was
comfortable in both homes and, although I knew Patsy wasn't my mom, she had that role when I was
with her and my dad. She encouraged us in our activities but never pushed us into anything." "I have
good memories of growing up."
.
On Burke and JonBenét - "I know it is accurate to call them 'half' brother and sister, but none of us has ever felt we have half a relationship. Burke and JonBenét are my brother and my sister. They've never called me "half' brother; they call me 'big' brother."
.
"I resent having to even talk about Dad and Patsy like this. .......... The outlandish, false things that are said are just what the media has made up about us. ......... Dad and Patsy are great parents. What else can I say?

3 . "Inspiring and comforting"
Posted by DonBradley on Dec-25-01 at 07:41 AM (EST)

Its inspiring and comforting to read those quotations.
I sometimes wonder what a bug in the BPD's warroom would pick up if the BPD read those quotations?
Oh, yeah...the war room is closed and they probably don't even talk about this case much anymore do they?
Well, IF they ever read the quotations...I'm sure it would be falling on deaf ears.

4 . "I remember"
Posted by Summer on Dec-25-01 at 07:21 PM (EST)

I remember reading in JonBenet's mother.. where they were talking to Melinda Ramsey, and one of her favorite Memorys was JonBenet running up to her going beindaaa beinddda. It must be so hard for them

Lucinda Johnson is John Ramseys first wife.
Man to Lucinda: A blunt question, is John Ramsey a child abuser?
Lucinda: No he is not. He is affectionate, he is kind and very gentle.
Man: Any suggestions from other family, other friends, school friends, so on, that that may be the
case.
Lucinda: No. There have never been other suggestion from any other source.
Man: Peggy Ramsey, John's sister-in-law. Is John someone who would abuse children?
Peggy: No. No he is not and it hurts so much that people would even say it or think it. There is no
truth to that. If we thought there was, we certainly would have spoken up as a family. We would have
gotten together and said, look, you know, you need help but nothing like that ever, ever, ever crossed our
minds.
Man: John Ramsey's first son, John Andrew:
John Andrew: No, there was never any abuse in my family. Zero. None. There was never any
touching or anything weird that might be kind of seen as sexual abuse by some. Never.
Man: This is John Ramsey's oldest daughter, Melinda.
Melinda: I'm John Ramseys daughter. I grew up with him, he raised me and I saw him raise
JonBenet and I don't understand why they don't believe me --- That he is the most caring father in the
world. He has never, ever, ever abused us in any way. I just wish I could say something to convince
them.
Man: These are family members but what they are saying is supported by Boulder social services.
After the murder they videotaped a long interview with JonBenét's 9 year old brother Burke. The police
watched from behind a two way mirror. Social Services later reported that there was no indication of
either physical or sexual abuse.
The police declined to take part in this program but even their inquiry supports the family.
Many months of investigation into possible sexual abuse, according to one law enforcement official, had
yielded zero - "Friggin' Zero!"
It means the case constructed by the media against the Ramseys is baseless.
"Many months of investigation into possible sexual abuse ...."
Thats the trouble right there. So much manpower and resources devoted to a Pop Psychology Theory. No reall effort to embark on a difficult path, just the easy one.

the older kids continue to support the Ramseys. I think that is important.
