that felt slighted by JR...or was jealous of him? A lot of the elements seem to fit someone younger, that perhaps had certain advantages. (ie: bat, stun gun, hi-tec boots(not exactly cheap), the garrotte (martial arts training?) and the movie lines). There are website devoted to gameplaying and movie lines.

The animosity between the DA's office and BPD, may be not have been all that secret---anyone living in Boulder, might have heard rumors.

"Ricochet" could have been a blueprint....complete with the magazine front pages hanging on the wall.

"Southern common sense" from the note sure sounds like sarcasm to me----perhaps someone that goes way back---but it sounded more like a slam against southerners.

They should look at the obvious---the written word....and not discount the "clues" to the killer's mind. I believe that's what John Douglas did earlyon. By the time you get to the last paragraph, the killer's true voice seems to come out, with all the sarcasm, and calling John by his first name....the writer seems to get more worked up by the end.

A son of someone acquainted with the Ramseys, that perhaps had a history of petty crime, seems to fit. Would a middle-age man (or woman) really have the wherewithal and courage to enter the house?
