I don't know if there is much use to posting these early indications of cooperation.
The view seems to be that the later 'lawyering up' is indicative of guilt rather than common sense despite the fact that anyone who did not 'lawyer up' in those circumstances would be a complete fool.

Even when they were 'in no condition to be interviewed' they still gave physical evidence.

All those later releases of records and repeated desire to meet with the BPD/DA don't seem to count for much once they were lawyered up. Well, those who lawyer up atleast have a chance to protest their innocence to the press without getting permission first. Those who fail to lawyer up are able to protest their innocence to the press only after obtaing permission from the warden.
