Patsy--if she were guilty, and this was raised, with the implication it was relevant, then she might have said she had some before she went to bed---and the cops would know she couldn't have had any that late, and she was lying. I think that's all there was to it, and was blown way out of proportion. They were trying to catch Patsy in lies. Only stomach contents are relevant--not fiber in the small intestine.
