Well, after the "She was about to turn 40 and you know what that means!" and "The poor baby wet the bed (didn't get the sheets wet, no wet clothing upstairs, but....)" and the "She accidentally hit her in the head, cracked her skull and then made the garotte to cover it up" theories fell through (the garotte was clearly cutting off the flow of blood to the head BEFORE the head blow and hence no swelling or bleeding noticed before autopsy)

....they had to come up with something.

I was waiting for the BORG to suggest Patsy did it while sleepwalking.
