#0, Ramsey Guilt and JonBenet's Height
Posted by DonBradley on Oct-20-02 at 07:56 AM
The standards for guilt on the internet seem incredibly low. I've actually encountered posts where someone stated that Patsy Ramsey had killed JonBenet solely because she had a sudden realization that JonBenet was going to grow up to be too short to win the Miss America Pageant.

Previously I've considered the Ramseys to at most be guilty of Sound Sleeping in the First Degree and Criminally Negligent Trust in Police Competence, but now based on this:
>videotape about stun guns from the Ramsey's house. I don't care
>whether it was in Spanish it was still in their house!
I think we can add to the list: Negligent Refusal to Discard Junk Mail.

I wonder if these posters actually think that someone who received some junk mail about security which included a foreign language videotape that was tossed on a shelf but not viewed and not discarded is therefore guilty of murder. And then I think: would such posters somehow be excluded from a jury? And I realize that no, they would not be excluded.

Frightening.

How did we become a nation of fools that would lower the standards of critical reasoning to such abysmally shocking levels.
