Caution urged after 2 sex
attacks
College-town assaults spur warnings by
cops
By The Denver Post

Sunday, April 14, 2002 - Assaults on two women in
college towns this weekend stirred warnings from
police that as the weather gets nicer, people should
be cautious about locking doors and windows.
In Boulder early Saturday, a woman sleeping in her
apartment was attacked by a man who slipped in
through an unlocked window. Police think he may
have used a stun gun on her. When the woman
screamed, the man ran out of the apartment.
The assault occurred in the 2600 block of Iris
Avenue, a few miles from the University of Colorado.
And early Friday, a woman returned to her apartment
in Fort Collins about 3 a.m. and a man followed her
inside. He grabbed her from behind and she wriggled
free, screaming, according to police reports.
He ran out the front door.
The woman lived in Ram's Pointe apartment complex
in the 2200 block of West Elizabeth Street near
Colorado State University. The woman is a student
at Colorado State.
Police are looking into whether this assault is related
to an April 5 assault in a dorm where a woman was
raped, Fort Collins police said Saturday.
Officials said they don't think either incident is
related to a string of rapes that occurred in
garden-level apartments last summer in Fort Collins.
"When the weather is warm, you must be careful,"
said Sgt. Robert Thomas of the Boulder Police
Department.

<a href="http://www.denverpost.com/Stories/0";>http://www.denverpost.com/Stories/0<;/a>,1002,53%257E526640,00.html
Entering a house and using a stun gun on a female victim.... where has that happened before?
Glad this one got away.
