I don't know if asking for an absurdly small amount of money, almost a token amount, would give some sort of emotional plausible deniability. Perhaps the intruder in JonBenet's case is attempting to deny pedophilia desires by saying to himself: it was an exercise in deception (the note); it was a real kidnapping (the ransom) it was not sexual (the minimal activity)... but it seems to me that this intruder knew just what he was doing and is not trying to diminish his role or disguise his true motives at all.<BR>
