LAST EDITED ON Feb-26-03 AT 12:08 PM (EST) IMO this person was stalking Molly out according to Molly's mother he was their the day before. It would have been nice if she had written his LP number down and let him see her do it. Anyway hind sight is better than forsight and we have nothing but a composite drawing and a white car. It's my opinion this person is a predator and has a long extensive criminal record and could have been visiteing the area around the time Molly went missing. I think if he lived in the area the description would ring a bell in a small community. Even if we could locate him, we have no evidence and he would deny it. The cold hard facts are that Molly is gone forever. Maybe one day someone will stumble upon her remains may God bless Molly. I do think her remains are located within 20 to 40 miles from the area. This person appears to be in his late forties are early fifties he may have lived in the area a long time ago. I would check with older local police to see if that person looks familiar since he would of had brushes with the law. Was any cigarrett buts found where Mrs Bish saw him parked and smokin and possibly around the trail. DNA from a cigg but could be ran through the computer base system to see if you get a match..

Here's the article:Human Bone Discovered in Bish Search PALMER, MASSACHUSETTS (AP, June 3, 2003)- An intensive search for Molly Bish has yielded what may be an important clue. Searchers combing the woods around Palmer have recovered a human bone described as being from a person between 14 and 20 years of age. Worcester district attorney John Conte calls it a ``significant'' discovery in the ongoing efforts to find clues in the disappearance of missing lifeguard Molly Bish. The bone, from the upper arm, is being sent tonight to a lab in Virginia for DNA testing. Conte says they've now established the wooded area in Palmer as a crime scene and will be using police personnel only as they continue their search. In another major development today, Conte says DNA testing on a piece of bathing suit found in the woods came back with mixed results. He says another sample is being sent to the Virginia lab for more testing. A headband found by a woman fishing in the Quabog River last week is also being tested for DNA to determine if it belonged to Bish. Conte says human hair was found along with the headband, which was badly deteriorated. Bish has been missing for almost three years. A representative for the family says John and Maggie Bish will hold a news conference tomorrow. The time is yet to be determined.

Report I found on Yahoo included a link to the Boston Globe article dated June 7:http://www.boston.com/dailyglobe2/158/metro/DNA_tests_are_readied_in_Bish_case+.shtml DNA tests are readied in Bish case By Elizabeth Boch and Peter Demarco, Globe Correspondents, 6/7/2003 ALMER -- Investigators searching for Molly Bish in the woods here found a thigh and a rib bone yesterday, and learned that a Virginia laboratory has a large enough sample of DNA from a previously discovered arm bone to compare with a specimen from her mother. The bones, discovered by a team of 50 searchers who have been combing a 26-acre area since Tuesday, were recovered shortly before 4 p.m. in the same general location where five other bones were found this week, authorities said. All of the bones, including a right tibia found late Thursday, appear to belong to the same teenager, according to Dr. Ann Marie Mires, a forensic anthropologist working on the case. "It seems like we're getting into an area now where we're getting more finds, so I think we're in the right spot," said Colonel Thomas Foley, head of the Massachusetts State Police. The search for clues to the disappearance June 27, 2000 of the 16-year-old lifeguard intensified after a bathing suit was found last month that was similar to one Bish was wearing the morning she was reported missing. Authorities believe all of the bones, which have been gnawed, were dragged by animals from a possible gravesite that has yet to be located. Worcester District Attorney John Conte, meanwhile, confirmed yesterday that scientists from Bode Technology Group, a private DNA-testing laboratory in Virginia, have extracted a sample of mitochondrial DNA from the first bone discovered on Tuesday. DNA from that bone, from an upper arm, should be sufficient to match to samples from the maternal side of Bish's family, but not the paternal side. By Monday, the laboratory should know whether it can also extract a sample of nuclear DNA from the bone, Conte said. A nuclear DNA sample is critical because it can be matched to genes from both of Bish's parents with 99.9 percent accuracy, forensic experts said. If there is nuclear DNA, Conte said it should take about seven days to match it with DNA samples from Bish's parents. Forensic specialists, however, apparently are unable to retrieve any usable DNA from the bathing suit. The blue and white Nike tank is identical to the one Bish was wearing when she disappeared from Comins Pond in Warren, and was purchased at the same sporting goods store in the Holyoke Mall where the Bishes purchased their daughter's suit. A ponytail holder fished from the Quaboag River by a local angler last week, however, has produced DNA, Conte said. That sample will be compared to the Bishs's DNA next week, though the family does not believe the scrunchie is Molly's. John and Magdalen Bish, Molly's parents, learned of the additional bone discoveries late yesterday afternoon. "It's crazy, but I feel some peace that I know where she was taken and what happened to her," John Bish said in a telephone interview. "We're really hoping that the DNA material will be available soon. I know the bathing suit isn't working out. But the bones, we hope, will." While yesterday's grim finds were "excruciating" for his family, Bish said friends who have stopped by their West Warren home were keeping everyone's spirits up, along with his 4-year-old granddaughter, Mikaela. "She just told me we have to go to grandmother's house to get her electric four-wheeler," he said. "She's the one who's holding us together." As of 6 p.m. yesterday, members of the State Police's elite search team, the Special Emergency Response Team, and several officers from the Environmental police continued to search the woods for a possible gravesite. They were set to return to work early this morning. "They don't want to come out," Foley said, of the searchers' commitment to staying on the job. "They want to continue to be there," he said. Several team members working yesterday were also involved in the initial search for Bish three years ago. They carry a photograph of Molly that John Bish gave to each of them earlier this week. #22, 11 failed lie detector test

Article on searching for Molly's killer. The interesting thing is 11 people FAILED the lie detector test. I don't know what type of questions they were asking, but it doesn't say much for the accuracy of the testWARREN, Mass. - The identification of Molly Ann Bish's remains has not given investigators any new answers about how the teenage lifeguard was killed, or by whom. But it has brought a flood of new leads and may help them to narrow the scope of the probe, authorities said.
Teeth and bones found in the Palmer woods a few miles from where the 16-year-old disappeared nearly three years ago were identified Monday as Bish's, Worcester County District Attorney John Conte said. Conte said investigators will revisit some of the suspects identified earlier in the case - including 11 who failed a lie detector test - and follow up on 200 new leads generated in recent weeks. ``We're going to search every lead that we have, new and old,'' Conte said Friday. ``And we feel this is the most important part right now, to see if we can't find out who committed this very heinous crime.'' Police still had a few acres of the hilly, swampy area to search and were planning to return to the area on Tuesday. John Bish, joined by his wife on the Warren Town Common, told reporters Tuesday that he was confident investigators would track down their daughter's killer, whom he urged to surrender. ``The person who placed her at peril will be found also by the Massachusetts State Police,'' he said. ``We will now turn to helping them in every way we can to pursue this individual. We would ask this person to turn himself in now.'' His wife, Magi Bish, her voice quivering, said that Molly had finally ``come home.'' ``We are extremely saddened,'' she said. ``The depth of our sadness no family should have to endure. No one wants to bring a child home, bone by bone.'' She said she was thinking back to the day Molly was born, and how her husband had cut the umbilical cord. ``Now we are at another stage when we need to cut the cord and let her go,'' she said. ``Molly now has moved to the endless journey where we know she will be safe and protected,'' she added. ``But we will miss her.'' The investigation intensified in recent weeks after a hunter revealed he'd found a bathing suit deep in the woods that resembled the one Bish was wearing when she vanished. In the ensuing weeks, searchers combed woods near the Quaboag River, where a woman fishing found a ponytail holder with human hair stuck to it. Over the next several days, searchers uncovered human bones scattered about - parts of an arm and thigh, then vertebrae and teeth - definitive evidence that Bish had met a disastrous end. DNA evidence from the first bone discovered help police to identify the remains. The identification was confirmed by comparing the teeth against Bish's dental records, Conte said the area where the remains were found was likely the murder scene. He added that the location of the bones had led investigators to believe Bish had been buried in a shallow grave. ``It's going to be very, very difficult at this time to establish a cause of death,'' Conte said. ``The material that we found indicated no blunt trauma, no bullet wounds, or any things of that nature.'' Bish disappeared June 27, 2000, minutes after her mother dropped her off to work at Comins Pond in Warren. A water bottle, her lunch, a police radio and an empty chair were the only traces she left behind. Her disappearance sparked a massive search, with searchers scouring hundreds of acres and divers searching the pond. Her story was also featured on the television shows ``Unsolved Mysteries'' and ``America's Most Wanted.'' Police released a composite drawing of a suspicious man seen in a white car in the beach parking area the day before Bish's disappearance, and rumors of her whereabouts popped up occasionally. But despite dozens of interviews and rewards of up to $100,000, there were no breaks in the case until the discovery of the swimsuit. The hunter who found it first saw it months ago, but said he did not report it because it did not occur to him that a lifeguard would wear a blue bathing suit. He expected a lifeguard to wear an orange or red suit. The discovery of the remains brought a flood of new leads, Conte said, and the location of the remains would allow officials to narrow their investigation. ``We have suspects, we have evidence, we have 11 people that failed a lie detector test. (Sunday) I said that we had 150 new leads - well you can add 50 more to that,'' he said. Conte said there were as many theories on Bish's disappearance as there were investigators working on the case. But he added that the discovery of the body only five miles from where Bish was last seen, ``leads us to believe that the theory that it may have been a local person comes to the foreground right now.''

The police say they have suspects. Witch one of those suspects has a white car that would match the desciption Mollys mother observed that day and who matches the composite drawing. I don't like the composite drawing!!!! I think the lady who did the composite drawing on Elizabeth Smart case should do it. She is good, VERY GOOD. QUESTION--How far were the bones found from where Molly was last seen at the swimming pool.

Thanks, just read the article and noticed where it said 5 miles away. The police must work off the composite drawing and vehicle description that's all they have. So I hope the composite drawing is accurate. I doubt if any fiber or DNA evidence will be obtained.

As you can see under post #8 dated Feb 26 2003 I was correct about what happened to Molly and how she would be found and distance. The important thing is this. This killer must be found before he kills again. He is a serial killer and has killed before and will kill again. I would be checking missing teenage girls in a 4 or 5 state area. Focuseing on a 100 mile radiouse of where Molly was abducted. Their will be other victims!!!!!!

Strangulation will most likely be the cause of death. If authorities perform a good grid search they should locate the hyoid bone in the neck. If the hyoid bone is broke that will indicate strangulation as the cause of death.

Molly Bish laid to rest by Franci Richardson and Max Heuer Sunday, August 3, 2003
WORCESTER - On what would have been her 20th birthday, Molly Anne Bish finally was laid to rest more than three years after she vanished and was murdered in a mystery that still eludes police. ``It's become so real I feel after this weekend I don't have a sister anymore,'' said Heather Bish, 26, sister of Molly. ``It's better than living in fear, thinking about whether she's OK.'' More than 500 people turned out at St. Paul's Cathedral in Worcester for a high Mass led by the Most Rev. Daniel P. Reilly, bishop of Worcester. In early June, state police found dozens of bones just a few miles from Comins Pond in Warren, where Bish disappeared. The bones were matched to Molly's DNA. Yesterday, the skeletal remains were sealed in a mahogany casket, topped by a single yellow rose. In his homily, the Bishes' pastor, the Rev. Daniel J. Becker, said Molly was born in her parents' West Warren ranch house, weighing in at 10 pounds, 4 ounces, ``and most of that was heart.'' Over the last three years, he said, distraught parents and siblings would celebrate her birthday, looking longingly into the candles placed on top of each year's cake. ``They made a wish that she would return just as she was,'' Becker said. But the family also tried to prepare themselves for the worst. ``But if you can't (return home safely), I'll see you in the hands of God,'' Molly's mother, Magi Bish, wrote in a poem recently. State police have narrowed the focus of their investigation into the frustrating homicide case, said Worcester District Attorney John J. Conte. Conte, who attended the Mass with several other political and law enforcement dignitaries, said he and investigators are ``personally involved'' and vowed yesterday to bring Molly's perpetrator to justice. ``We feel very, very deeply about the loss the Bishes have suffered,'' Conte said. ``It only strengthens our resolve to solve this case.'' In the past, Conte has said investigators are focusing on seven suspects living in the Warren area, but last week, he said, the probe took investigators to Florida. He would not elaborate. After the Mass, the long procession, led by two Worcester County sheriffs on horseback, weaved its way to St. Paul's cemetery in rural Warren, where Molly was buried next to her grandmother. John Bish wondered how his family would go on without his youngest daughter. ``We want no other family to experience the type of ambiguous loss we've gone through,'' he said. ``Now the difficulty is in learning how to live without Molly.'' Several of her high school friends released 350 monarch butterflies fluttering into the sky. One of the butterflies landed on Magi Bish's cheek. ``It's just like Molly - she made us smile one more time,'' she said. www2.bostonherald.com/news/local_regional/bish08032003.htm
