DNA Says Eli Not Missing Boy

DNA results of a boy abandoned at an Evanston, Illinois, hospital show he is not the same boy who disappeared from North Carolina two years ago.

The investigation began into Eli Quick's identity when he was placed in foster care after a man named Ricky Quick abandoned him. Initially, some believed the boy was Trisetn ''Buddy'' Myers, who went missing from his great aunt's home in North Carolina two-and-a-half years ago.

An FBI spokesperson says the DNA from the mother of Tristen did not match with the boy's DNA. Friends of the Myers' family said their hopes were still high Friday morning, but the news was not a surprise by the end of the day. They ask the public to contact authorities with any information about Buddy.

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is working to determine the details and identity of Eli Quick. Ricky Quick continues to contend that he raised the boy he calls Eli.
