The FBI says remains found by Shawn Hornbeck's family members are not related to the case of the missing boy.

The 11-year-old's family had found what appeared to be human remains and blades of grass sprinkled with blood.

F-B-I spokesman Pete Krusing says medical personnel knew right away the remains were not human.

Shawn's family says they had a credible lead from a Richwoods woman who came forward yesterday.

She had information that Shawn may have been struck by a motorist who tried to destroy the evidence.

Krusing also says two pairs of gloves and a plastic milk container found by volunteers are not related to the case.

Shawn vanished from Richwoods, about 60 miles southeast of St. Louis, October Sixth.

Searchers have found no trace of him or his bicycle.
