So far, it looks to me like there was a whole load of information in the 50-page document for the BPD to follow up. Did they do anything? I don't think they did much of anything after the 1999 GJ disbanded.

Kane's remarks - right off the bat - regarding an Intruder's best defense being that John did it says it all as far as Kane's interest in what the Ramseys were bringing to the table. He kicks off the whole deal by basically saying that no matter what the Ramseys' team of investigators have found, the case will roll back around to the question of Ramsey guilt. His line of questioning further bears that out. The case was far from solved; no Ramsey was found to be an indictable "ham sandwich" and yet he wants to stick to the old, worn out path. Sore loser, I think.
