I also had never heard of Hi-Tec prior to this case. We moved to Arizona in 1994 and decided we would buy hiking boots (I liked boot shopping more than hiking. Anyway I read catalogs and shopped at a number of hiking/camping equipment stores and never came across the Hi-Tec brand.
