Who knows? The BPD didn't think it was interesting - they refused to investigate that situation with an eye to possible involvement in the Ramsey case.

IF Helgoth did it - I hope the new investigators can find the evidence to prove it - announce it and end this.

So far no word so I suspect Helgoth is not the source of the DNA. But that doesn't mean he might not have known what really happened that night - that could have been part of the reason he died as he did.
