Since the "speculation" can has been opened, may I add my 'analysis'.

I think the absence of (new) Ramsey case news has contributed to the tendency for all forum discussion to lapse into jello. Many posters are not overly enthusiastic about rehashing or reanalysing the "old" news so forum discussions are bogged down in wheel-spinning or gossip.

What is there to stimulate someone like Jameson who has been "here" EVERY DAY since day one and has heard it all before time and again?

Jameson posts the highlights of the case (with the "newbie" in mind) and we half-heartedly respond and instead open new threads that sometimes take a mindless direction.

Right now, the forums that seem to 'flourish' are the forums that are happy and content to gossip, rehash improbable conclusions, bash Jameson and/or the Ramseys, friends of the Ramseys, those employed by the Ramseys, or those working in a different direction from the focus of the BPD. Most are like coffee klatches - a place to plop yourself down and speak freely and irresponsibly.

My take on Jameson's discomfort is that she is tired of this. It became boring and redundant months ago. It has become like "work" to try to direct the focus of the forum to fact-based threads.

Have you noticed the thread titles that have the most 'views'? (Go to the Archives, page 45 for a sampling as the "Current" page is a reflection of the forum's activity since Jameson "left the building". Looking back a few weeks or months will show you that the hardest hit threads are often the "Gossip" threads.)

I think the direction most forum discussion has taken is the "discomfort" Jameson is referring to (but, maybe not; only Jameson knows for sure).
