John Fernie, who arrived early on the 26th., said that he walked around the butler door side of house to the front door. No mention was made of his footprints.
1. Does this mean that the police never looked after their initial walk in the dark, the sun didn't come up until 7:30 am, assisted with flashlights? Or that whatever prints there were..were trampled over by them as they walked aroung the house?
2. Does it mean that the ground was so hard no impressions were made in the dirt? Which in turn must mean the intruder was so lucky to know he would not leave prints or he made some other provision for not leaving prints, like going thru the garage door or the grate/window well?
3. If Fernie went around that side, why does he not mention the butler door being open? Does this mean that door was shut at that time, approx. 6:15 am? Did he see the metal bat left at the corner of the house?
