"Peterson's Home Modesto"

Peterson secures loan for $100,000

Accused double murderer Scott Peterson used his Covena Avenue home as collateral for a $100,000 loan he obtained from his parents, according to documents recently filed with the Stanislaus County recorder's office. Click link for complete report:

Note: This will answer how/why Scott Peterson attained the $15,000, of which his attorney Geragos (at the time it was confiscated ) said there was an explanation.

The loan only happened a month ago....

Exactly, the loan happened after Scott was in jail, only a month ago. It has NOTHING to do with the $10,000.00 found on him at the time of his arrest... nothing at all.

Geragos just wants the money that was found on Scott returned and the truck so that Scott's parents can be paid.

They wonder why the Peterson's wanted the house as collateral as a loan for their son? Because they probably figure he will be convicted and then they can sell the home or move into it, to assure they get their money back. That way, it doesn't go to the attorneys for the defense.

I guess what comes to mind for me is that the Peterson's are not a young couple. I think they may be financially secure, but I don't think that they are by any means wealthy.

They are business people, business people usually secure things like loans, even if it is their own son.

Also, they probably need to secure the loan to ensure proper medical care for Scott's mother, and retirement. To be real honest, things don't look too good for Scott, but maybe they can sleep better at night knowing that they helped him get the best defense possible regardless of the ultimate outcome. Regardless of what people think of Scott, it's their son, and they love him.

That's just a few thoughts from the peanut gallery..

Everyone have a very happy and safe Thanksgiving.

More than likely the $15,000 came to Scott from his parents and/or his family. We will have to wait for the answers, Geragos said there was an explanation. I will rest and wait for the answers...

Better question LadyBug. Why did he have the money on him and change his hair color.

Who cares where he got it from, why did he have it?

Why did he have his brother's ID? And why did he try to change his appearance?

That's what I want to hear from Geragos. Darn good explanation if there could possibly be one.

Yeah, if it were the money alone, that would be one thing, but it isn't....

Lots of clothes in the vehicle, bought the car under his mother's name, telling the guy that it was his name, and having the money, plus the change in hair color...
