Okay, here is a really stupid question, but I am going to ask it anyway... is it possible for the defense to ask for a speedy trial during preliminaries? Or has that time passed?

Listening and watching TV news of the horrific wild fires in southern California, and the deaths and devestation has caused me to pause. Many of us have friends and/or family living in southern California.

The chaos, the charred blackness and the heavy smoke makes it a chore to catch a breath of air and devestating for those with ailing health such as Jackie Peterson and so many others.

Little has been said of the feelings of Scott's parents and I've been thinking of Lee and Jackie Peterson traveling north to attend a hearing of their son Scott who is charged with a double homicide of their beautiful daughter-in-law and their unborn grandchild...it has to be more than an unbearable, unbelievable nightmare for Scott's parents.

The last time the Petersons saw Scott and Laci together was last December when they traveled to Modesto the week before Laci went missing and the foursome took what seemed to be a happy drive to the Carmel, California. Who then would ever imagine they would be where they are today...no one.

I too feel sorry for the Peterson family....although they have been attacked for defending their son, I haven't felt that way. No parent wants to think that their child is capable of such a heinous crime. I don't blame them for standing by their son- any loving parent would do the same. They too have experienced a great loss.

Even though my gut feeling is that Scott is guilty, I would rather believe someone else did this..... it seems so tragic that Laci's life was taken by someone she loved and trusted, someone she had made a sacred vow with.

It's much simpler to think that someone who didn't know her would be capable of this.

I don't think that is the case, but I honestly hope I'm proven wrong.

Yes, I do feel sympathy for the Peterson's. The son that they raised and Love is on trial for murder, I can't imagine anything harder... well, except for what the Grantski's and Rocha's feel. They lost their daughter forever... Scott is still alive.

I don't mean to sound uncaring, because as I said, I do feel sympathetic towards Scott's parents, but right now, the majority of my sympathy goes out to those that will never see Laci again... In the next few days, details of the autopsy, her death and so on, will be in the news, they will have to re-live their daughters murder all over again...

I totally agree with everyone's thoughts about the Petersons. It will be a major blow to them when/if SP is found guilty.

I have the day off, hope they will show the proceedings on CNN.

My biggest fear is the prosecution won't have any big evidence against SP, other than what we already know. (which is strong enough, IMO.)

If I am obsessed with this case (as I've been told), then it is only because I want justice for a beautiful much-alive mother-to-be who was waiting for the birth of her son. So much she missed out on.

JUSTICE FOR LACI & CONNER! May we hear solid evidence today.....
